The CT trucks are the quintessential Defenders in my opinion. I figured it was worth a thread to post up all the links and resources that are out there and to get some good pics of member trucks and stories. Please feel free to update with whatever you have. The internets has some great info but is rather difficult to find a lot on specifics, especially how these trucks were built. I am doing a loosely based CT tribute truck, it mainly consists of the bolt-on pieces and I have quite a bit to learn about them. Thanks for the input.

Just curious @WreckITFrank, is this intended to be sort of a catch all for technical things only CT? Like where to source X?, who made what? I have collected a lot of info and specific details for the defenders, but I am in no way an expert.

I would like to know more about the kit used, what were the teams issued? what was a typical loadout of the trucks? how did the teams use the equipment? Things like the CT washing machine.. I find that super interesting.

Regardless I love the idea of this thread. I agree that these are the quintessential adventure versions of a defender.

@Frenglish all great questions and what I hope to find out as well. Anything goes. We chat heavily regarding the front brush bar and some other key components, but still so much I have not figured out yet. Anything related here is welcome.

Although not the vehicle used, Bill Burke participated in CT Africa 1991. He has a wealth of knowledge on CT.

Bill did an interview recently on Centre Steer podcast where he shared the details of his experience in the event.

Here's an odd one. Don't know much about it. Heard it was used for try outs, no idea on where and when.

good close up shots from a USED disco

good shots of a USED 110.

I did like everyone else and parsed out tons of pics off of random websites or screenshots from the grainy youtube rips out there.
I know of a local to Philly genuine CT Disco that I might be able to convince the owner to "catalog" for our benefit.

I learned this past weekend the Bedford was used as a fuel and supply delivery truck, and it sported the crane to maneuver the fuel barrels in and out of the back. I forget which events exactly.
