-my little girl did this on Wednesday. Her first solo flight. She would've done it last week on her actual birthday but we had a little snow storm interruption. Some of y'all have already seen it on IG but I will blast it here too....

This is the moment when sh*t got real..
Her CFI had just gotten out of the plane. walked out of the gate, and she pulled up to the hold/short line.

After successfully doing 3 takeoffs and landings and flying the airport pattern, her CFI cut her shirt tail and they hung it on the wall.

That is awesome. I can still remember my first solo after over 40 years. It is a big confidence booster, just as her first solo cross country will be. What a great dad for sponsoring her!

Awesome and congrats. Flying has been a great career path for me and I pay it back by mentoring up and coming aviators if your daughter ever wants some direction.

BTW I still have a square from my solo shirt taped into the cover of my logbook from 1982. Almost 24,000 hours and I still look forward to going to work and flying my own plane on my days off. Not to many people can say that about their chosen profession.
