Airbag spring helpers for 110

Has anyone got experience with installing either the Coil-rite or Airlift spring helper inserts on a Defender 110?

Firestone Coil-rite has a specific part number for Defender 90, but not for 110. Here's a link to the 90 part number:

Firestone Kit for Discovery Range Rover and Defender 90

These contain an airbag that is 4.75" width, which given the 6" OD of the spring sounds about right.

There is another kit using the same length of bag but which is 5.5" width which appears would work good for the 110. (I measured my springs inside diameter to be roughly 5.45") This kit is however for a Toyota Sequoia:

In addition this kit for Dodge Ram may work well as its 11" x 5":

Airlift brand also has a kit here, which it indicates is for both Defender 90 and 110. I can only assume that the Airlift kit falls roughly in the middle of the two spring measurements so there appears to be some wiggle room in sizing these things. (spring joke...)

Since the truck has OME HD springs already and depending on load may or may not need additional support, I am leaning to air helpers rather than replacing the current springs.

Ideas welcome...

thanks, Dave

thanks, yes thought of those inner springs but at $700 USD plus shipping its kind of out of the budget. The air spring kits are roughly $230 CAD (~$160 USD) shipped to my door.

Hmmm, maybe I can get my hands on some used inner springs...

I'll keep that in mind. I am lifted about 2" so they may not fit.
Do you have the seats as well?

Still would like to hear if anyone else has experiences with air helpers.

I installed a taller airbag (airlift 1000 #60818) (2”lift) and modified some spring relocators to act as the top seat for the bags
Did this just for towing my popup to keep level

I'm pretty sure the rear springs are a larger diameter in the 110 than in the 90, so double check that before using a kit for a 90..

When air helper springs are used to raise the ride height it effectively lowers the overall/combined spring rate so handling gets a little mushier.
Prob want to slow a bit compared to the normal pace without a load anyway.

Thanks everyone, I've put in an order for the Firestone 4164 kit. We'll see how they fit. Amazon is pretty good at returns but time will tell.

I've also heard about the mushier ride, but have been told on that front that this can be avoided by keeping left and right lines separate rather than teeing them together. Something to experiment with as well.

A follow up on air helpers...

The Firestone kit listed above does not fit, and has been returned. Unfortunately the pictures on all websites that sell this kit do not represent what actually comes with it. No upper and lower pucks to retain the airbag so with Land Rover's upper spring seats being wide open there is no way to keep the bag in place. Bag itself would have fit.

I have instead purchased this kit from Rovalution Automotive in North Vancouver. It fit perfectly and has greatly improved the ride. Of course it would be great to have full air suspension from Airbagman, but that's more than a little above my budget.

cheers, Dave

I ran into 'puckless' situation as welll....I simply fabricated some from old (qwyn lewis) spring hooks to retain on the top and cut some pucks out of HDPE.

I'm not sure what problem you're chasing, but in my case, I just run the LR HD springs and my truck is completely leveled out, even with all of my kit on the roof, and setup to hit the road for 1.5 months.
