A bit of a sway...

So... limited success! Nose of differential did not help much, but I looked again from behind, and noticed a mount of some sort sticking out from the axel carrier just behind the spring. Not sure what normally would go there (anti-roll bar?) but ideal for jacking/twisting. Hockey puck under the jack for extra lift (it's a small hydraulic jack with only about a foot of lift) and the trailing arm slid right in. Tightening in the limited space to 130 ft-lbs (176 Nm) took a bit of effort, and good news is I remembered the anti-seize, so that side done. Was able to get the other side off before I lost daylight. Hope to have it finished tomorrow (if no rain). Will report then.

And... success! Second arm went in far easier than the first, and I knew better what I was doing this time around. Took it for a spin, and it is much better.

I still need to do the A Arm, but I think I will have someone do that on a lift, and I will do the front Panhard Rod this weekend. Front arms are on the list as well, but those are not yet an emergency. I even remembered the anti-seize, in case I need to do it again. All in all I am happy. I'm putting this in the win column. Thanks everyone for all your help.
