Speaking of which, inventory outages not withstanding, what is typically the best place to buy ammo, price wise?

I’ve had great experience with/at Cabelas. Picked up a Beretta APX, and to my surprise they had plenty of 9mm ammo.

Both Cabelas and Bass Pro here in the Phoenix area are taking the opportunity of wiping down the empty shelves where ammo once sat for sale.
I was picking up a pistol I ordered a few weeks back from a local gun store when some goober came in to "buy a shotgun for his wife". The salesman could have sold him a table saw and told him it was a shotgun. He walked out with something like this and a box of birdshot. My little part of the world has gone completely insane.

Looking for 45acp for a friend that just got into shooting. If you see any in stock let me know. Thanks.

Between COVID and the upcoming election ammo has become very scarce and the prices have gone thru the roof. Good luck finding any common sized ammo. Guys are flipping 1k rounds of 9mm or 5.56 locally for $6-700. Mid March (pre COVID) they were $300ish for 1k rounds.

I just checked my buddy Howie's website, UN Ammo and he has Magtech .45ACP in stock as of tonight. One thousand rounds shipped for $790. Not cheap but in stock.

I just bought some .22LR from a general store out in the country. They said they had just sold the four boxes of 9mm to a guy who was going to resell it. The 9mm boxes were only $17. I work right next door, so I'll probably pick up some 9mm whenever they get it again.
