Dick Covey is the Capcom, (the astronaut in mission control who actually speaks to the shuttle crew).... he's the one in the video who first sees the breakup of Challenger on the video monitors...

Columbia, the first shuttle of the fleet, broke up over Texas on this day in 2003.
I was really bummed as I was watching this reentry live on CNN that morning since I didnt have to work that day.
