Never heard of the Sniper ER but I'm not up to speed on Holly's offerings.

A 4.0 is a bit different than the 3.5, 3.9, 4.2 engines in that there is no provison for a distributor drive. The engine is designed so that ignition is provided through the same ecu handling the injection. If you installed a edlebrock manifold and the normal sniper throttle body setup you would need to come up with some form of ignition. The gems front cover has a buss where a distributor could go, dont know anyone who's opened one up and done it.

Rob Lynch has it up and running on a 3.5 V8 in a 110 and so does Jonsey (installed by Sarek in Richmond, VA) on a 4.0, I think.
I am not well versed enough on the V8 to respond with any certainty as I do not work on them, but know the Holley Sniper will.

I've had the thought in the back of my mind that as time catches up with 14CUX systems and they fail, that something like the Holley Sniper would be the best possible EFI alternative.

I believe Jonesy’s was a 3.9 out if a disco.

This is why I'm thinking about it for my 4.2 in the LWB. How many of the black boxes can I have in the garage to replace when needed? Probably not many around that work anyway. Seems like someone might have done this someplace.
