300Tdi injector leaking

I made the mistake of buying the Britpart hoses and fittings. It leaked after 1500 miles. The hoses just got soft. I bought the Mercedes hose and so far it is ok. It is not the barbed type fitting but did come with the soft hose. If it leaks again I will get some small clamps. At first I didn’t notice it leaking. The first symptom was hard starts. I replaced the hoses and it immediately went back to normal quick starts.

Thanks all for the responses!
I think I may try the bling green Viton unless anyone knows if the Mercedes is viton or bio resistant as well? Thanks @Napalm00 for the offer!

My number 2 side of the 1 to 2 hose seemed to be rubbing in the acoustic cover. I’m guessing this may be part of my problem.
@jymmiejamz Interesting point it does appear these tubes have a barb on them.

Again they are not barbed because originally they had plastic line melted over them.
That cracked and failed and someone decided it was OK to use the hose and push it over the non-barbed fitting.
It is possible that the aftermarket parts idiots then thought it was OK to have a non-barked fitting with push on hose and started offering it, but the fittings for push on hose are supposed to be barbed, otherwise they leak.

The Mercedes line available at the dealer is buna and NOT resistant to Veg.

Again, that is not what I have seen with genuine ones. A friend of mine had one blow off 20 miles after receiving his d90 after ECR did the 300 Tdi with a new spill rail. It had a new genuine parts spill rail with rubber, not plastic hose.

I've had good luck "barbing" 5/16 metal line with a brake line flaring tool, gently bubble flaring the end.

Yes anything that will provide a uniform concentric bulge to prevent a leak will go along way to help a straight pipe without a clamp.

why i use the urethane stuff it will stretch over the pipe and stay put, no matter what...you need to cut it off. and it has the same nominal ID of the braided stuff.

Sounds like you have it on straight fittings, correct?

yup , i actually use it on both the straight and barbed type . I put it on most trucks people bring to my place for help. the only real downside it that it kinks easily compared to the viton stuff . proper routing is key

It's the same part number The old original ones are barbed and the new aftermarket ones are straight. Both 200 and 300 rails

And it even comes with the bullet plug for the number 1 injector.
This is too much. Way over the top cool.
BUT
Will your TDI need to have the barbed spill-over fittings or will this line stay on the straight piped fittings?

The picture isn’t correct for the kit. That’s one of the Mercedes kits I think.
It won’t have the plug since isn’t needed, all the rails I have seen have a solid end at the end of the chain.
But it does come with clamps as well if one is so inclined to put them on.
