3.5 and 4.0 timing cover gasket differences

I got in a hurry today putting together a 4.0 engine. I didn’t realize until now I probably pulled a timing cover gasket from my 3.5 liter engine stash and used it on a 4.0 engine. Grr... why didn’t I take 3 seconds and hold it up to the timing cover?!?!

Can anyone conclusively say the 3.5 timing cover gasket can or cannot be used on a 4.0 engine?

I put a new 3.9 cover on my 3.5 and used the 3.9 gasket, no sure on a 4.0?

When the oil pump moves from where Buick put it to being a silly gerotor pump that's on the crank, the pickup path and other things changed

At least that's what I've seen.
