Ouray will always be packed. It's one of the most popular summer areas in Colorado. I suggest snagging an AirBNB or hotel in Telluride and driving in. It's about a 45-60 minute drive depending on traffic and Telluride is a cool town.

I'd called every camp ground around.
Kraig calls KOA back after I'd told him they were booked but everything pointed to them as our best target
smoozing and says can you just lease us a grassy area ?
He was able to talk them into reserving us two spots they usually just hold open for drive up motorcylists.
So all set @ KOA. Appreciate all the suggestions.

That's the one we did the Cummins conversion on. The grey truck is the other 90 we built with a Cummins.

Keith and I the only ones from the forum going ?
I miss all these events due to work. I've only been able to make it to overland west a few years back and that was on the last day. Hopefully if things pan out, i'll be in NC and will be able to hit a lot of these events. Maybe not Ouray, though.....

A record year for snowfall. Area got between 200 & 600% of its normal annual snowfall.
Avalanche damage was everywhere.

A group of us splintered off after the first day and did our own thing for the rest of the week. We moved faster and saw more. Here's a drop box folder with some great shots
