200TDI timing cover w/ AC mounts

Anyone know if I can simply swap my 200tdi timing case and cover with one that has the AC mounts already on it? I was not sure if the disco/RRC 200tdi case portion would just bolt right up without any differences. Might be easier than fabbing up on the case itself or an alternative to my current thought of using a gym lewis twin alternator mount. Thanks.

The discovery/rrc style timing cases have them built In.

That would require changing the alternator and mounts , timing belt and pulleys , water neck , both inner and outer timing case , water pump , hoses , ect

Way way easier to use the gwn mount .

In full disclosure I'm actually on the hunt for Discovery set up. As I need it to use with my 300 head

correct, completely smooth. Mine is a 91, and I recall some others have the same in the 91/92 years. Could be fabbed I guess which is an option, but the gwyn plate can much easier be modified to hold a compressor I would think.

not mine but just like this...

If that is yours, then you have the mounts. You simply drill and tap on the machined bosses. They rarely tapped them from the factory. Easy to do. Just put a stop on the drill bit to avoid hitting the timing belt.

I have not seen personally, so cant say. But I thought there were bosses or stems that shot up to level out the plate a bit. If it's thick enough I can certainly tap them, as having a good welder at my disposal im not worried, just thought I would have needed to add a bunch of material there to make it happen.

The covers with the raised bosses are the Disco covers. It is a completely different mount style for different mounts.

The Defender mounts are identical to the 2.5NA and 2.5TD mounts. All accessories swap over with no changes.

good deal, didnt know that. I do like that the GL mount for twin alt has a hose guard on it, may prove to be helpful. But tapping holes in the case is not really all that difficult, have to make a mount either way since likely the OE mount is pricey if even able to get. Appreciate the info.

*If anyone has pre tapped holes and a motor or case easily accessible, I would not be opposed to some measurements on exactly where they are.

that's likely the plan, ill use the Gwyn mount and build whatever is needed for compressor. Will also keep the hose protected.
