200 TDI Defender 110 suspension question

Looking to completely rebuild my suspension. Considering the following genuine parts and looking for feedback. These are PUMA shocks with HD springs. I'm going to run wolf wheels and 255/85r16 tires. Thoughts? I've been down the RTE road in the past and was very happy with it, but thinking of keeping everything a bit simpler this time. The 110 also has full safety devices exterior cage, spare on rear mantec swing, front bumper, winch and dual batteries.

Front Springs: NRC9448 and NRC9449
Rear Springs: NRC 6389 and NRC6904

Front shocks: RSC 500290
Rear shocks: LR 044348

Anyone running this setup? Feedback on manners both on and off road? Happy with the overall stance? Tire clearance? Are the springs harsh? And of course...... pictures if you have them!!

i have similar setup with wolf rims and 22/85/r16, but with standard shocks. I have full size spare, rear tire carrier, roof top tent and an 80 pound dog most of the time.

No rubbing, decent offroad, but the bumps could be better. I'm actually looking to switch out to koni raid shocks, that I have laying around. I think anytime you have HD springs you have to have it loaded to ride well. when empty it can be more rough. SO if road manners are big issue, maybe try standard springs with 130 helper springs.

I also really like the stance with that size wheel

Thanks for your input. I'm not familiar with the 130 helper springs, I'll do some reading.

Following, looking to refresh my 110 suspension too. Sagging genuine springs (rear mostly) now. I definitely don't need/can't justify HD springs. After some advice by @jymmiejamz I'm thinking genuine springs all around

What are you running now (standard duty)? What advice have you been given? What shocks are you thinking you will pair with the genuine springs? I've heard really great things about the puma shocks.

Any input is much appreciated.

I assume standard duty Genuine, definitely the original springs for my 300tdi UK market 110. I bought a mountain house recently and a lot of out-of-character fully laden highway runs back and forth seem to have caused the sag. The rear is noticably lower than the front over the past year or so.
-
The advice I got (based on my requirements of a not harsh ride and the fact that I don't tow often nor carry extended heavy loads) was light duty OME, Genuine or "maybe" med duty OME.
-
I've always liked OME shocks, had them on 3 or 4 vehicles, but open to Koni, Bilsteins, not sure I "need" fox shocks, but if I see a deal... What's different about Puma-gen "OEM" shocks?

Anyone else willing to comment with their experience? Specifically LR progressive springs with puma shocks?

I went down this road when I needed to replace my chassis. I went with genuine springs and shocks and pretty happy with it. It takes exits very well and with less roll than my wife’s LR4. The original suspension was a smoother ride when there’s nothing in the cargo area or no passengers, but that all i miss about the original suspension. This is on 235’s

Original were factory coils? Did you replace with the same part # or another genuine option?

We setup lots of 110 folks with a softer rear spring and helpers to get a bit of the best of both. Manages to keep the unloaded truck from being too stiff and also keeps the rear from bottoming out when full of gear and people.

TF or OME springs (OME for the really HD setup) and there are a few shocks that have worked well depending on the amount of lift.

got a link to helper springs you'd use with this setup?

Yep, originals were coils. Genuine springs were purchased from Rovers North.

What I was getting at is that there were several factory options (part #s) for 110 rear coils over the years. Sounds like you stuck with whatever it came with.

I’m very happy with Genuine HD springs and OME shocks on my 110. It sits slightly high in the rear unladen, and is perfectly level with a full load. No complaints on ride quality.

How’s the stance? Did you get any lift from the HD springs? What weight/accessories are on your 110? Any pictures? Thanks! I’m leaning towards the genuine HD springs with the Puma shocks, but have had a few people warn me against the HDs.

I have a camel trophy winch bumper setup with a Superwinch Husky, roll cage, roof rack, rock sliders, and two Troy boxes in the cargo area. Probably got about 1” of lift if I had to guess.

I'm not that interested in a lot of lift. Did you end up with any driveline issues? Usually doesn't happen with just 1+”, but every truck I've built has been a little different.thanks for your feedback.
