2 inch lift - alignment ?

I put 2 inch lift springs on my D1 and obviously the alignment went off. I adjusted the tie rod ends to bring it back to the steering wheel being centered and it does not seem to drift or pull in either direction on the interstate. It was surprisingly easy but wow does just a little adjustment go a long way. Is toe in - toe out all I really need to worry about? Larger tires are going on later this week...

The only thing that would change by installing a lift would be the required length of the drag link. You shouldn't mess with the toe if you lifted it, just lengthen the drag link to get the steering wheel straight. If you changed the toe, your alignment is probably way off.

Thanks, believe I’m all set. Adjusted the drag link and used the adjustable “paint pole method” shown on the Bearmach YouTube channel to assure the wheels were parallel.

Terry, a little toe out about 6mm I find is good. That D is to shiny for the moutains, people gunna think you rich. Bring it up to the mud hole. You still want those front arms? I got them up in Timberon.

Hey John,

I don’t have 6mm of toe out. It was actually toe in a bit when I started. I’ll mess with it a bit more when I get there. Yeah, it is going to be tough to take it out in the forest. Maybe I’ll just keep beating up the Santana for a while and keep the D1 pretty.

I’m thinking I may go with a little more lift so those front arms are still something I’d like to have. I’ll get the stock spares pulled from the extra axle as well, if you still need a set. If you run by the Rover Hut look for my trucks and stop in if you see them. I haven’t forgot I still owe you beer and pizza at the brewery.
