1998 Disco Springs Question

I'm looking to put stock, or close to stock springs onto the 1998 Disco I. I wouldn't mind having about 1" of lift just to get clearance for 235 tires in the future, but I don't want to build the rig for weight or trails just yet. It's a high school/college kids' daily driver and camping rig. So stock springs are the only thing I know of unless you get 2" of lift from MD or HD springs. Am I wrong?

When it comes to ordering stock springs, I'm looking at part number, and wondering, using Proline as an example, what's the difference between NTC8572 and ANR3477? (That's PLS041 and 048 respectively in Proline for the rear.)

And Roversnorth doesn't seem to list a RH front shock, I can only find the stock RNC4306. They also don't have a Proline version of the front. So, buying a pair doesn't seem to be an option. Am I remembering correctly, or full of it... that these days you just buy two of the LH side front springs because they used to be made a little bit differently to compensate for the steering gear, etc...? something like that?

Thanks

red/yellow NRC4305 drivers side and green NRC2119 passenger side gives enough lift for 235s with a winch bumper. camel trophy build sheet shows they hade these up front.

I've had both 8572 and 3477. The 8572 seems a little softer, ride height is about the same.

There is no factory way to lift the rear, it needs a spacer, helper spring, or aftermarket lift spring. A 7 seater disco 2 spring might do something, but I dont think it would be enough to match the 4305/2119 combo up front. I've got a 1.4" spacer in the back and the 4305/2119 on this one. Front sits a little high since the winch hasn't been installed yet.

I've got the o.e. set from the long gone '94 sitting in the garage.

I don't imagine you're coming through Des Moines any time soon .... they're yours if you are :)

Out of curiosity why do you feel the springs need replaced? Or are you going for a slight lift? I’m getting ready to replace the shocks on my ‘96 D1 yet the springs seem fine.
