For Sale is my 1989 Defender 110
Located in Pacifica, California
I have owned it since 2014. It was my daily driver in the UK for 3 years and has spent the last 3 years in California. It runs and drives fine and is mostly my surf truck now. I’m selling to fund another project. It currently has a 19J that was rebuilt before I left the UK but will also come with a 200 Tdi short block with a head, extra crank, and extra pistons making it the perfect project for rebuild!

Price: $20,000 Or Best Offer
Details below. Email me with any questions.

Mileage: 243,000
Engine: 19J. Runs and drives fine but the injector pump is leaking. It had a top end rebuild in the UK. Turbo completely refurbished. Purchase will also include a 200 Tdi short block with head, extra crank, and extra pistons and a fly wheel. You will need to source a turbo and an injector pump and a few other things. I also have an extra 19J injector pump, partially disassembled if you want to keep the 19J in. The engine tried to runaway on me once. I turned off the key and it stopped. I have never had another problem since that day. It has a new radiator with space for inter cooler when you put 200 Tdi in.

Transmission: R380, no issues, no grinding, shifts fine. Has a new clutch, new rear main seal, new HD clutch fork.

Brakes: no issues

Body: has rust in normal spots. Bulkhead corners, bottoms of doors and a few other spots under paint on doors. The passenger door has a sticky lock. I had multiple rust spots fixed in the foot wells and the rear door frames in UK. I put a new metal floor in the rear passenger areas.

Frame: There is surface rust but no serious issues. I had the rear cross member replaced in UK. Also had the center cross member replaced. The center cross member is galvanized.

Doors: As I said, the bottoms are rusty but not the worst I’ve seen.

Seats: Exmoor Trim high back seats in front and rear. The front are heated but haven’t been wired yet. Has Ex Mod benches in rear.

Wheels: Black Terra Firma Beadlock wheels. It needs new tires.

Heater: it works

Extras: Led lights all around, safety devices roof rack, does not come with tent. Aux heater, not wired up yet.

Clean Georgia Title

And one in orange fire madness in NorCal today. I’ll post a few more when the light isn’t orange and since apparently I can’t orient them correctly.

Seems like a good deal. Even with the "rust". I just did a bit of detailed research on the vehicles I could find on Craigslist around the country, and those that had sold on BringATrailer over the last year. Not the LS conversions or rebuilt ones, but those that are comparable to yours and mine. The average of those sold in this category is $38k or so. Yours and mine might not be quite as good as some of those, but the numbers tell a story. Hope you sell!

I'm going to miss mine when I do sell it, but I have also come to like the idea of passing it on to the next happy user!
