I am putting up for sale my beloved 1987 Tithonus RHD.
Bought this truck in 2016. It had a 2.5 NA and hard top on it. Truck had 159000 KM on it.
Since then I did many things to it.
Got Safari HP to change the drive train for a 300TDI and R380 coming from a British Disco 1 with 85k on it. Got new RDavis injectors on it. Engine is great. Fantastic torque and tune up by them. Nothing can stop it on Lo Range and 2nd gear. And if it gets stopped, you can switch to 1st gear.
Hard top is out and has green vinyl canvas on it. Drop down tail gate installed. Hard top and back door also offered with the truck.
Added a couple of Tithonus benches in the back.
Swapped the 7.5 Michelin XLZs for new 8.25s with new wolf black steelies. Spare wheel is off the front for visibility while daily driving, but it’s also an 8.25 in a new rim.
Added anti sway bars on it.
Also got new exmoor trim sound deafening covers for the r380 seat box.
Added sound isolation for the hood and extra around the seat box.
Added RNs door cards to it.
Added simple cubby box to replace rifle stands.
Also gave it a paint refresh old army style. Sanded it down quite a bit and roller painted it with original color obtained from the battery covers. Also including half a gallon of that left over paint.
I was supposed to do the same with the chassis. Black paint is starting to flake off. Needs some sanding and paint.
Got a nice Tithonus badge.
Added new eyebrows.
Oil and fluids have been up to date. Brakes work great.
Changed one of the swivel balls last year as a preemptive job.
Also added new ball tow hitch set up. And new gear boot and shifter knobs.
Also included are parts like: bikini top, hard top, extra front door shells and cappings, extra tail gate with side opening. RHD metal binnacle and binnacle mount. Extra silicone hoses for the engine. Also a centre seat for the front to replace cubby box. New snorkel that needs to be set up too.
Price is 29,000USD OBO.
This is a great truck that won’t require much work on it. Great to cruise town and reliable.
I’m making space for a new Rover. Already have other two in the driveway.
