110 in good condition

I'm in the market for a 110 5 door. Really set on a diesel and looking for a truck in good mechanical condition. I have my eye on 2 that could work, but before I pull the trigger I thought I'd see if anyone is on the fence about selling theirs. I'm a cash buyer with a $45,000 budget. We will use the defender here in the mountains of CO for a camping, adventure, trail truck. I'm not looking for, nor does my budget allow, a garage queen. Anybody have one or know of one for sale let me know.

Have you driven a 200 or 300TDI 110 up a an incline.
It will be painfully slow.

You have added that type of comment to my last several questions. I'm curious what your engine of choice is. Do you prefer the LR V8 or are you into swaps? Just curious.

For $45k you should be able to get a pretty nice ROW truck id think. There are some sellers on the forum that have some pretty nice trucks in that price range. Johan and River Mike. I have never done business with them but check their inventory pretty regularly and seems to always be some in this price range.

There is a truck at surf side I may be interested in. Is anyone close to there that could check it out for me?? Or know of a good shop in the area.

Flights are cheap these days! Checking it out in person will benefit you in the end. You’ll know exactly what you’re getting and it’ll give you perspective as you compare various trucks you see in the price range.

I'll contribute by saying, Ken is a reputable guy. My sister bought a Scout from him a few years ago, she's still very happy with it.

If I were to get back into owning a Defender, I'd go for one from River House or Johan or whatever he/they call themselves here. I'd save up my cash, and get one of those clean, basic, imports that get posted up once in a while.

I feel like I got lucky with the one I had. Most others are so molested or wasted, that it would be hard to drop the $30k+ cash on such unknowns. If you're in Texas, a good 300Tdi won't be a problem, but it may be something to swap in the future.

Can't do it.
Picking up 25 more adapters this week and 21 are pre-sold and about 6 people have spoken for a kit that haven't sent the money yet, so am ordering another 25 adapter castings.
They'll be here at the end of next week or the week after, so hopefully can get them down to the machine shop before they change the set-up on the automated milling machine.

X2 re Ken. I’ve bought from him and wouldn’t hesitate buying again. BTW, I can’t say that often. I also suggest you go see what ur buying.

Well, it looks like I didn't strike fast enough. Both of the trucks I was after got purchased before I could get it worked out to go see them. So, I'm still looking. If you know of any 110s coming up for sale, or you are thinking about selling yours let me know. I'm a cash buyer for the right truck.

I have a ZA 110 in my driveway that was converted to LHD.
Well worth the extra effort to have a fully original galvanized frame and bulkhead and doors in like new rust free condition.
Likely can't get it somewhere else for the same money.
