AP Vintage Motors in Statesville, North Carolina has a very unusual 1991 LHD 110 Ambulance with a 2.5 Petrol 4 cylinder.
Probably came from western continental europe or even more likely Turkey.
I have never heard or a LHD ambulance with a 2.5 petrol.
It's a shame that they tried to kit out the back, because the work sounds very amateurish.
Not mine, but a unique and interesting vehicle.
Price is set at the non-negotiable amount of $34,900.00 on both the sellers web site and on USA ebay.

These are Otokar military trucks. A few have shown up lately. Problem is when they get modified by the importer and turned into a Frankenrover that only a mother could love, like that orange one. Building a camper to flip is a sticky wicket. Everybody has different priorities and something that works for one person perfectly may not work for another one at all. Always liked the design better than the squared off UK 127-30 ambulances.

I also prefer the Otokar ambulance over the others.
They can be found and if one can wade through the export and US import, then you can have a good LHD platform.
Thought about getting one and converting it to a Chevy 250 with power steering and AC.
Luckily an Otokar ambulance came up for sale about a year ago that was about 15 miles away.
The seller let me drive it and go over it closely.
Thought the inside would be taller, but it was about 6 to 8" too short.
Not wanting to be ducked down all the time, I went back to the original plan to have a 110 camper with a pop-up top.
When it gets warmer will spray a top coat on the flat roof without alpine windows.
Then can install the rest of the new Dormobile top.
Have also purchased a new wedge shaped pop-top to install on another roof to compare.
Then we'll have both a Dormobile top and a wedge shaped camper top to compare.
Whichever we prefer will be used on our camper and the other top will be sold off.

Rover ambulances typically are too short to stand up straight in, with the possible exception of the Perentie. Although it is possible to install a pop top on an ambulance, on my 127 I decided to leave the hardtop alone, and set the camper up for sitting or reclining inside, and the kitchen outside in a tent annex like a Carawagon. That way sleeping is done in a 100% hard shell, and I can load up the roof rack. Pop tops are great, but out West the wind can be epic, and it's a step up to be in a hard shell. The saying goes, "When the wind blows, go to town." I'm hoping sometimes I won't have to.
Good luck on the camper build.
There are some Uk spec 110 ambulances similar to the Otokar, but typically rhd. Getting a Turkish one and converting to Chevy 250 would be slick.
