Thanks, Will has been my supplier for a lot of this project. I bought a 3.9 block off a friend locally had a machine shop go through it and install new pistons. He had a 4.2 for the same money and I don't know why I didn't grab it. Ran the same wedge shop Cam as before. Now that Im through...
I sold my 95 and bought a 95 RRC I've been slowly bringing back to life. I miss my Defender every day but just makes since with wife and two small boys that I want to bring on the trail. Plus part of the deal was I get to find a place in a couple years.
Magnacores are great wires. Ran then on my 90. I got Kingsbournes for the classic since I'm ballin on a budget.
Looking forward to finally firing up my classic this weekend.
This is a trend among newer rotors. Get one of the HD versions from Lav at Series-Defender. I've had a new one leave me stranded before. The one that came on the truck lasted probably 60K miles. The new one lasted maybe 1000.
When i get a few extra dollars i'll probably switch to the DUI...
Im not a 100% on the condition of the box in my old Disco. It weeped before using the BlueDevil, but was made worse after. I also bought a bottle off amazon and read sometimes you can end of with counterfeit bottles. I looked on their website and they would only stand by buying it from...
I must be the only one hat used Blue Devil and it made my situation worse. I added it and came out the next day to most of the fluid sitting under the truck.
I was lucky in my 90, that box never leaked. Just the hoses were leaking.
The amplifier on my 90 was relocated to the coil. Two wires (red/blue) ran from the dizzy to the amplifier. If the amp isn't getting a signal from the pickup plate, the coil will not fire.
I had this issue and it was the plug at the amplifier for the wires out of the pickup plate to the amplifier. The plugs contacts had worn and touching it would cut the truck off. I bent to the contacts on the male side to make a better connection. When i confirmed it I butt spliced it.
I...
I removed my manifolds since i broke the studs taking them out. I then installed the studs on the bench using the two bolt method to insure they were well seated. I also really hate these studs.
I stripped the interior and the only corrosion i could find was a little at the rear cargo area at the seam. I wire wheeled it and painted it with POR15. I've POR15'd the front floors as well, but they didnt need it. I put down some knockoff Dynamat with Dynapad on top in the front. The only...
In the first pic, there was a previous hole there that looked factory. I wasnt sure what its use was since it was covered in insulation. All that insulation has been tossed and is being replaced with a dynamat knock off.
I decided just to patch it. When i pull the motor at some point ill address the whole seam. Stinks since this is the only bad spot on the truck. (rustwise).
