WTB 300 Tdi air filter housing and hoses

I used a RRC round canister AF. Mounted it on the left fender liner. I will have a stock intercooler in a month or two when I get around to putting in my new radiator and Alisport IC.

    R380 Question

So if a guy were so inclined, a gas r380 to tdi would require a new main shaft first gear and a new counter ( lay ) shaft as well?

    R380 Question

Hmmmm, I had not noticed the 1st gear difference. No stick relocation needed, Disco/Disco. Thx!

    R380 Question

Getting ready to overhaul an R380 and was wondering if anyone has experience with the following. I have a J suffix R380 out of a NAS '95 Disco, so V8 application. It needs some 2nd gear work, some brainiak ran it with 90wt. I was thinking of getting a TDI input shaft and using it behind my...

GM 292 Straight 6 - Yet another conversion

Ahhhh, why not the Ford 300? Stayed in production longer, factory EFI. The 292 isn’t a bad choice, but the 300 is way more common.

    High Egts on 200tdi

I would re time the pump with a dial indicator back to factory, 1.54mm and put the boost pin back to stock. Then see what your egt's are. As far as the intercooler goes, I would see what I could do to get T1, pre cooler, and T2, post cooler, temps under load. Generally more inter cooler...

    D1 Front Seats

Well, if you have a '95 or earlier I think that's a no go. Mounting points are side specific. I would get a diaphragm from Bearmach (ExMoor) and a base foam and rebuild it. Covers are pretty universal so just about any Disco seat base cover will work.

300TDI Disco radiator same as Defender 300TDI?

Title says it. I currently have an Aluminum and plastic aftermarket radiator, correct 300TDI style. I was looking at the Bearmach site, they still list a copper and brass radiator for Defender 300TDI. I know the RRC and Disco 1 300TDI use the same cooling package, not sure about Defender and...

    AC question...

Low charge simptom. Pull the charge and see whats there. Hopefully you have a charge weight noted some where on the system. Then you can either charge it up to 250 psi with nitrogen and bubble check for leaks (preffered method) or you can have dye put into the system with a refrigerant...

Classic car values dropping Aug 2017 Hagerty report

I doubt that REAL classic cars are taking much of a hit, your Benz gull wing or that Shelby GT350 you run to the store in are probably pretty safe price wise. It will just take a couple of months to move one not a couple of days. IMHO Rovers are not classic cars, the Series trucks and the...

Note left on the truck thread

A subject near and not so dear to me. I am luck enough to have two really desirable cars, both are project condition at the moment. And my 300TDI Disco gets a fair amount of attention if it's running. I have a 1962 FJ-45 SWB pickup, and a '34 Ford 3 window deluxe coupe. Hasn't happened in a...

what should the running temp of 2.5td be?

It is low compared to stock, but remember that is 180 coming OUT of the radiator. The coolant coming out of the head is around 205 to 210 if I am dropping 25 degrees at the radiator. Also I am in the mountains, not on the flats. I live at 10k feet, so my density altitude is about 73% of sea...

what should the running temp of 2.5td be?

I don't know if it's the best possible spot, but my temp sensor is in the lower rad hose after the first T coming from the radiator. My fan comes on if temp at that point exceeds 180 degrees, fan shuts off when the temp is below 170. My goal is to dump 25 degrees at the radiator. So T-stat...

what should the running temp of 2.5td be?

I run a Revotech electric fan. The clutch fan IMHO is shitty at best. The Revotech is designed for a 300TDI, comes as a complete kit with controls and all. I have a manual switch on the dash, mostly to turn the fan off when doing a water crossing. A couple of things, don't waist your time...

    Boost pin, again.....

Hey I noticed that Fourby has the Morgan-Hill boost pins in stock. However it looks like they're shipping to the US is, well pretty steep, at around $100. So if anyone else wants one or a couple we could take some sting out of the shipping. Or the second option, has anybody tried any of the...

    Snap-on roll cabs

Ok, YMMV so take this with a grain of salt. These days Snap-On dealers are franchise operators. So effectively, they own what ever they have on the truck. I have found that the dealer(s) around my area are in no mood to make any sort of deal for a guy they have no standing relationship with...

    Dual batteries in a 300TDI

I will post some pics up in a day or two. The batteries are in pure parallel, no isolaitor, essentially just one battery with two cells.
