And here I am with B&Q's (UK home depot but shittier) best foam rollers and some coach paint rollering up and down like a new couple that just moved into their first home.
I am impressed with the problem solving and execution. top job!
The CT winch ring is a standard lifting and hoisting tool found in the crane / Hoisting world. Here ya go ;)

Pulling the bolt, filling it white lithium grease and putting it back together is a great fix, But while you're in there you could drill and tap in your Zert for future greasing purposes as well.
Its a land rover, no need to over complicate the parts.
Get yourself some Swags, they roll out and setup faster than anything I have seen, only issue is you're on the ground. but they have a mattres in side and roll up really quickly, look nice stored up on the roof.
Are there any chunks of metal on that magnet or is it all like etch a sketch when you wipe the magnet off?
Seems like a lot of metal particles but who knows how long the last oil change was, so if theres no chunks, change the fluid and don't worry about it.
Two things are clear from reading those comments:
1) Clearly nobody looking at this truck knows the first thing about how these things are built, its like Lego duplex, easy and the parts all work together
2) Wagondouchbag is a twat
I think I would warn against "ship fitters disease." (Read desc here ) But overall I think an inspection of the valves and a new head gasket with everything else should get you where you need to go. I do not necessarily suggest doing the valve guides unless they are damaged, but maybe the...
Hi, firstly you can do this, and you will feel proud and accomplished for having done it after your done. Nothing on this truck is that complicated and in theory can be done in a farmers field or on the trail. But.. we need to look at some things given the damage done.
And not to scare you...
Congrats and welcome to the Landy world. Now get ready to learn about science, mechanics, painting, meteorology (I don't know about you guys but my truck has its own microclimate inside, sunny outside but I still get drops of rainwater on me)
Fighting corrosion on these things is a battle for...
apologies for continuing with this threadjacking here.. But I think the answer to building one from a part here there everywhere is simply surmized the same as "triggers broom" from Fools and Horses. :)
And to the note of Osprey, There are so many better options for that price point that are...
I would tighten them enough that they can slightly move without binding, then I would set the truck on the ground, bounce and roll it forward backward just a foot or two, then torque them all down at their "natural and rested" position.
Factual statement there.. My apologies I assumed you were stateside. I would actually be interested to know how many of us are based outside the USA.
Anyway, the tubing is like a duct hose or similar that could be used for dust extraction. I am not familiar on what kind of building supply...
