I don't know anything about the Isuzu engines, but the Mercedes gets my vote. It has tons of aftermarket support and is capable of making more power than a Defender can use.
What mounts are you using? The 606 swap is easier on RHD for sure.
My truck was originally a 200tdi I was using Madman's dash gauge before the swap so I just moved the pressure sensor over to the OM606.

I used this on the oil cooler line. I am using the madman system for monitoring oil pressure. Depending on what mounts you are using you may have room to come directly off of the oil filter housing as well. I am LHD and using DPUK mounts, so it's pretty tight in that area...
I just used a Dremel with a cutoff wheel, and carefully cut the metal clamp on the OE pipe. Once the clamp is off the old hose will pull off and leave a fitting similar to what came in the kit. Also, you may need a longer drain hose because the OE fitting is a little shorter. I believe it was...
I purchased the Allisport kit and the only issue I ran into was the drain fitting they supply did not fit my truck. I had to cut off the fitting from the original drain line and use that. Shipping on the kit from them was pretty fast.
