interesting. the heavy paint on the rivets on the rear corner cappings is typically evidence of a respray. as are the black painted rivet heads on the plaque if you go by ECR's gospel but i question if that is true or not as i so rarely see them with unpainted rivets.

94 converted to 95 rear lights, with a very heavy respray coat on at least the rear quarters. edit, the badge comes up as a 95 AA yellow soft top despite the front marker lights.

im not sure where you get the impression that i'm wrong, but i can assure you that i'm not. overdrive gears are the weakest in the transmission. they are not designed for being driven at full load. pick any 5 speed light truck gearbox, even the exalted nv4500, and load it up in 5th and it will...

please, if you are asking for opinion i am offering one. if you want to just leave it in 5th from 65mph without ever having to downshift, you don't know how to drive a manual transmission. 5th gear never meant for full load. regardless of engine or transmission.

if what you're expecting is to be able to put it in 5th and just leave it there on the highway you are going to need a few things, namely about 400 + ft lbs and a pile of spare transmissions after destroying 5th in all of them.

im not sure what you're expecting. 5th gear is a cruising gear not a "lay into it" gear. let alone with boards and such on the rack. maybe its the "loose nut behind the wheel" as the old timers would say.

santa, your 200 should as well you just need to have it geared right and wind it out. most are way under geared. put in a 1.2 case and put your foot in it.
