Combo of oscillating multi tool, properly sized and high-tooth-count hole saws for the round spots. Router with circle cut jig is the IDEAL for larger speaker holes, but if you're going 5.25" then you can use a hole saw here as well. Or just as big a hole saw as you have, then creep up on it...
Ronnie on the border of Fairfield and Bridgeport is 10/10. Used to run an independent shop in Bedford, NY, landlord booted him and now he's setup shop out of the Fairfield JLR dealership. The prices are dealership prices now, but the work and his knowledge is as good as it gets. It's walkable to...
Can you share some closeups of the seat frames? and is the center seat bottom the kind with the little "notches" out of the seat base to better accommodate the seat belts?
So this is still a work-in-progress, but i have this dome light bracket on my soft top:

And this dome light: https://www.roversnorth.com/parts/pll159_interior_switched_lamp_assembly_for_defender
And then i...
SendCutSend overs bending now too. If someone is a better engineer than me, you could absolutely have them produce a full shroud that might just need one set of rivets to close off the corners. But they could cut the overall shape, make the top and side bends, and cut out the mounting holes...
Is there any non-custom solution? I have the revotec in front of my 4.2, and it's fine 95% of the time, but under stress it just doesnt keep the temp down. I have a brand new, OEM replacement rad from RN for the v8, but when I'm on the beach in the sand, the engine gets hot. Now MAYBE i have an...
Holy moly, i gave up and just converted to the antiburst latches, but this truly is a special item. Someone who still has these style handles in their truck should scoop this IMMEDIATELY!
This is maybe a dumb question, maybe valid - but do mechanical fans move more air due to size? or the nature of spinning at roughly engine RPMs?
No AC in my case, so just the one rad. But others in this thread likely do.
This is in an 83 110, but it has a freshly rebuilt 4.2 in it (done by...
Wouldn't a mechanical fan actually move LESS air when we're talking about slow-ish sand wheeling? The revs aren't TOO low, but we're still talking 2500 RPM to 3000RPM, not like, 4500RPM track time in a TR6.
ok, clearly i should do some more digging. sorta hard to diagnose/solve for bc it holds temp nicely in normal conditions, but maybe I'll just put in a new thermostat and try to bleed the system regardless, then see if i can't find someplace to replicate sand driving since I'm done with the beach...
I've got a dual fan revotec electric fan setup. It appears both are working. But no shroud.

This is what I've got in mine and it's not holding up to summer beach driving, my 4.2 V8 gets too hot: https://www.roversnorth.com/parts/pll885_radiator_defender_1983_1991
I was going to go Allisport, but this is making me second guess. What's better? An Allisport or a custom re-core?
