Trekworks Black A4-80 Stainless Lug Nuts

The black are back in stock with a new coating which is even harder and more scratch resistant. I don't want any of you suffering the first world indignity of having scratched lug nuts. Also, by popular demand they are now available in natural bright finish...

    Defrosting issue - 1993 NAS 110

Heater box seals are shot or the cable is maladjusted if you can't shut off airflow. The lower dash/heater duct always directs air to the demisters. The flap inside only shuts off air to the lower vents. Definitely sounds like a heater core leak since it smears and occurs under all conditions.

300 TDI Chinese Injectors and IP's

They're easy to swap, so you might consider giving them a shot anyway. If you happen to get a good set then you could keep them as a backup.

300 TDI Chinese Injectors and IP's

Mike at BritRest did some testing on a Chinese set and they were all over the place. Obviously a small sample size though. Good luck.

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Run a temporary wire from battery - to rear ground location. If that resolves the issue, make it permanent. Defender grounds are the worst. Countless issues could have been prevented over the decades if only LR had not assumed that a body which is largely bolted together would conduct...

What is it? Looks like a Bugeye and a square body Chevy got together.

2.8L 300tdi to automatic transmission, Anyone do it?

In addition to timing and valves, how much boost are you getting? They can take quite a bit more than factory setting. There really is no replacement for displacement though.

    LT230 Sump Cover Re-seal Failure

A leaking intermediate shaft often appears to be a sump cover leak. Sure that isn't it? If the leaks really are at the bolts, I wonder if installing some sealing washers would be an easy fix: https://belmetric.com/gasket-sealing-ring-steel-rubber/?

    Building the perfect 90

The Dyna Pro isn’t cheap, buts it’s probably the best in terms of durability. I used a cheap 2.5mm tip HVLP gun. Wouldn’t go any smaller. Undercoating is thick so it needs a good size orifice to flow. Be prepared for at least 4 coats. A Schutz gun works well too, and puts the mils down faster...

    Building the perfect 90

Wheel wells - some rust, a lot of difficult to etch zinc carbonate, and a ton of work to prep. Aircraft remover, then wire wheel, then blasted them. Epoxy Four coats of 3M Dyna-Pro undercoating Refit rivet nuts Those shock towers that I spent too much time refinishing - the...

Parts from different trucks is a pragmatic solution to parts supply. The photo is just novelty and hunger for attention.

    Fuel gauge inconsistent

I'd pull the sender and check the wiper mechanism. How old is it? The wiper brush and contacts wear on each other over time.

Strange, I’d expect bad fuel to lead to uniform injector fouling.

    Clutch Pedal Box Cover Screws

The screw part # SL510032 indicates 5 = Imperial 10 = #10 and 3 = 3/8. #10-24 screws should be carried at most hardware stores. I mean you wont find LR's exact screw, a Dacromet-coated tri-lobular Pozidriv screw, but they should have something serviceable.

    Clutch Pedal Box Cover Screws

I believe it's UNC 10-24 x 3/8 The older boxes were probably BA, like the fuel filler screws on TDIs.

    Building the perfect 90

Yeah good thing about this mod is that the hose can be replaced easily now. The fittings should last forever in this climate.

    Building the perfect 90

Oil cooler lines - just hook them up and go, right? No, it can't be that easy. The replacement lines were built with hydraulic hose, massive overkill (2320 PSI rated), too stiff, too long, and crimped in a slightly incorrect orientation. All together, they couldn't be fitted properly. I...
