Good to know. I have never been a 'fan' of electric fans either. The shroud is also incredibly important and increases efficiency a ton. I will remeasure again and see if I can fit a mechanical fan, even a smaller blade one may be better than electric. In California, it is consistently over 100...
Once I got all the leaks taken care off, I needed to upgrade the brakes to stop these massive 37s. I dont think I have room for hydroboost with my coilovers and hoops for suspension.
Kit is from Forbyn Brothers in Placerville, CA with top quality adapters. 13 inch floating rotors with large 6...
Here are some pics of the remote oil cooler plate from Chad at QuickDraw that wasted weeks of my time. Basically, the plate was machined wrong and needs more cutout on the side. I have an early engine but also matched it up to a later plate with same results. If you buy one, talk to Chad an be...
Fitted 2 remote coolers, one for transmission and one for engine oil. Drill and used nut serts and made a small bracket. Tranny are 8 AN and originally the oil cooler was sized down to 6AN. After dealing with the remote oil cooler leak, I also swapped out the 6AN to 8AN fittings.
Been awhile since I updated and will try and keep things in order. Had a MAJOR issue with the remote cooler plate from QuickDraw. It was simply machined wrong and pushed on a wrinkle in the fornt cover casting. After weeks of diagnosing, I finally took the whole front cover off to see the crack...
Thanks for sharing your cooling issues. I finally got my R2.8 installed and running and drove to Flagstaff for Overland Expo on its maden voyage. Going up long steady grades in 100 deg heat I faulted 3 times hitting 225 deg. Currently running elec 2 Spal fans from a Alisport (i think) setup with...
The NorCal Rover group gets together occasionally for dronks and chat and sometimes we wrench as well. If you are in Northern California, let us know. Good buddy has a full shop and lifts.
Rear seats is usally the loose definition Customs goes with. I had rear seats put in my 110 beacuse PO had taken them out. Trip to junk yard and loosely bolted in saved my money. The D90 I imported had rear jumpseats so was classfied as passenger. Its the 2 door 110s that usually get screwed...
Anyone have a Puma hood hanging around? Standard hood wont work for my Cummins R2.8 transplant. Doesn't need to be in the best condition as it will be wrapped. Thanks. Located in Sacramento, CA.

Pushed dash wiring through firewall but not using much of it. Will add a Check Engine light to dash rather than reuse an existing light. Murphy gauge is where my Madman EMS 3 was in the cluster gauge.
Reused some firewall holes with M6 bolts and spacers for the ECU.
Drilled some new holes in...
Got the Jeep Wrangler slave cylinder installed underneath and plumbed to master.
Took old rigid steering box line and rebent it to the other side. Made up some high pressure steering pump lines and plumbed them last night. Need to get a long lower pressure hose to finish off that circuit.
Got a 2.5 inch to 3 inch 90 degree and cut it down coming off the turbo outlet to a straight 3 inch and 90 degree to MAF pipe. Still need to figure out where the airbox is going to be. I really want a snorkel but it may be challenging. I have 14 inch coilovers and custom hoops up front with...
After all the work installing the clocking ring and modifying the cooling pipe, none of it will work. It's actually a straighter shot to the intercooler without it. Granted, it wasn't a ton of work, but when it almost straps the threads and needs to be recapped. Looked like it didn't fit at...
Grinded off old radiator mounts. Was able to create new holes directly in the cross member as my frame being originally a Santana is a bit different from a proper Defender. Thankfully I have just enough room for the condenser, intercooler and radiator without needing a 'bump' grill. Barely...
