Hi folks.
Getting close to doing the YRM rear tub Puma conversion.
Being that it's difficult to get the Wurth Metal to Metal Bond and Seal tubes here in the US. I'm looking at another product.. made in the US and has good reviews.
The Surebond Metalbond adhesive chaulk.

Anyone use this stuff?
Thanks,

Ozzie

I would ask a local body shop, there are probably a ton of products out there to do that. When I worked for Maserati we would replace strut towers and they were just glued and riveted in place. I think it is stronger than weld at this point

While i tend to overthink everything in life, especially with defenders, you don't need to reach too far. Any panel bond will work, especially in conjunction with rivets. I used this to put new rear panels on my 90 tub. It would likely tear the aluminum before it came apart. It was ecommended by my body shop buddy. I used 5200 as well on some other things and likely the same result. I used that more as a seam sealer though but im sure it would work.

Oh, and if you’re putting in riveted panels, cleco fasteners are a game changer. You can get everything installed and check the fit and alignment without permanently affixing anything. Then you can pull the panel, apply your adhesive, reinstall all the clecos, then replace them one-by-one with rivets and everything will stay in perfect alignment.

edit, here is a pic installing a hood frame. Some fit in rivet holes, others are clamps, there are several styles and you squeeze them with special pliers. you can buy kits cheaply.

Watched a couple of videos, ordered a set of 25 1/8" and 25 3/16 and the pliers. I'll attempt the Tub conversion early in the week.
Thanks for the suggestions!!
