The "Beach runner" thing has caught on, so we figure we'd take a stab at it.

Left handed TDI 90 at the core, it is pretty divergent past that base description.
Running RADFLO coilovers on each corner, trailing arm type rear suspension, wood floor, integrated wet bar, onboard water/shower rinse station, on board air, removeable battery powered sound system, wood top-rail on the tub, the list goes on.

Here's an intro video of the tear-down and chassis repairs:

Is that an aluminum skinned surrey top? I commend your shop's skills but I'm a bit confused as to why someone would want coil over suspension but no rollover protection and no way to contain the air-conditioning (assuming by the air-con grille). While on the topic of franken-rovers, here's an idea: take damaged HCPU bed, shorten it, fit it on a 90, build a custom cage, and fit a cage mounted over-bed RTT.

It's made for SEMA It doesn't have to make sense

You guys are glutens for punishment with all the repairs on that frame! But if you are re-configuring the suspension I can see why. Interested to see how the bulkhead outriggers turn out they are such a catch basin for material.

I like the hardtop and open sides - I'm leaning that direction when I redo my 3 door into a door.

Here’s the underside view of the bulkhead outriggers

As for “no rollover protection” here’s where the cage is at currently (note we amended our roof design and lowered the roofline for a more hot rod look):
