After breakfast Kraig went across the street to get the trail pamphlet and got some suggestions from the locals. One was the general store @ Bedrock, Co,the other was the Delores River canyon former site of Colorado's longest hanging flume.

After these side stops we climbed back onto the Rim Rocker.
The trail quickly got very steep and rough and it was early afternoon and hot. Raub and Mark were on the radio saying temp was high and the spike to 235 so

we all stopped. Concensus was his electric fan wasnt pulling enough air so Raub and Mark decided to drop back down to pavement and we'd meet in Moab. My brother decided to go with them.

With it being just Kraig, Trey, and I we started moving quicker and pretty soon we were getting airborne and powersliding the trail, baja 1000 style. No pictures from that part of the day regretfully as the scenery was incredible. Kraigs caliper bolt came out 5-6 miles into Utah and many miles from anything. He broke in a nice shady aspen grove. We removed the caliper and folded the hardline over on itself a few times. We dropped down to pavement via Two Mile Road and drove the last 53 miles to the campground in Moab.

Sunday 9/13 Kraig went and found a caliper bolt, a section of 3/16ths cupro-nickel line and borrowed a flaring tool from Oreillys. Peter Vollers showed up from Albuquerque and Capt Rubley from Colorado Springs. We decided to run a trail close to town Sunday afternoon as it was midafternoon already. Peter chose Poison Spider back into Golden Spike, two of the more difficult trails in the area.

Sunday night the Min boys showed up and the truck count went up by 4 but Trey's 90 was down waiting for a new ps pump. Monday Raub decided to boogie back to SD. My brother and Mark decided to go check out Arches National Park. So the rest decided to follow Gustaff K
to the Top of The World Trail about 30 miles out of town.

Tuesday 9/15 Peters new diffs from GBR and Trey's p/s pump were both available after coffee. I fixed the 90 and Trey swapped both of Peter's diffs @ the campground. We were off to a late start but got things together to go do Hells Gate with the intent of having charcuterie and incredible gin & tonics on the trail and watch the sun set. Again no pictures on my phone but an incredible trail and great time. As usual we came off the trail in darkness.

Nice trip report! It sounds like Trey won the MVP award for this one. All the "fix it" pics showed him doing the work!

I had a pre arranged visit with a local Rover hoarder in Grand Junction to get a NAS 90 tub. The rest of the guys came because it was a rover hoarder. Owner is an aircraft mechanic originally from Rhodesia.

Bill Burke's two Land Rovers. He's owned the 90 since new.

Epic photos and story!

Are you guys doing this trip again next year? One of my to-do's is that Telluride trail.

Nice pics.

Still pissed that the Montrose County people "branded" Divide Road and the Uncompaghre Plateau into the "Rimrocker Trail", which will definitely bring the crowds to what used to be a little-known backcountry route between Telluride/Montrose and Moab. But, I guess it makes sense from their standpoint. They want to diversify and draw summer tourists away from Moab. It's much more hospitable than the low desert in the hot months, anyway.

Think we passed the opposite direction of this group when we were driving into Ouray after finishing Engineer. Had 3 discos, a Ram and a ZR2.

Also, met DirtyTitanium in Telluride.

That first spot, is that a designated campground?

Trey and I have gone out 4 yrs in a row now. Sitting around the fire back @ Stauffer's on 9/20 we discussed doing this every year till we can't. Instead of trailering wheeling rigs with 35's and lockers, next year we'll bring lwb trucks that are comfortable enough to drive cross country and gear to live out of them while exploring. Peter is already set. We discussed exploring the rockies from New Mexico to Canada over the coming years. We spent 10 days this year, intent is to stretch to two weeks next year. Build that R2.8 110 and join us

Can't speak for the rest of the year but we had it totally to ourselves.
