What have you done today to your LAND ROVER (Non Defender)

Pulled the head off to check the valves after having a rocker arm snap. Valves look good, head gasket was okay but 3 of the four pistons are cracked! I was even more surprised that the engine has been rebuilt before I got it.

The positive side to it is that after almost a year of repairing it I’m finally going to stop trying to fix this 2.5 TD and install a 200 TDI instead.

Made a little more progress on my 110, ordered a few items from yrm for the tub and b posts. Dug into the lhd bulkhead, basically remade this whole corner. I had already tackled the a pillar.

Before you comment on my frame condition, I have another frame for it, I just want to fix the body issues then swap tub over to my rolling donor chassis. I haven’t the room to do any other way, I’m bouncing between a bantam trailer build my 110 and a late 88” 2a.

Looks good.
Any chance you have found a source of replacement panels for the inner skin you cut out around the vents?
Been looking but not found anything (I just need the end of the vent to the door pillar o LHS).
Guess I may have to polish up my non existent panel beating skills!

I have a similar issue, I'm going to use a full outer vent skin cut in half, and use the cut off for the inner portion

for the inner skin I used the outer replacement skin (I just used it for the corner) flipped it, you have to cut off the flange that contains the vent seal making it a flat section, may have to piece some of the surrounding area together with plain old sheet. I had the upper straight portion of the inner vent bent up by a location metal shop.

you should be able to use a whole outer flipped for the inner. Just have to get creative. I spent most of the day measuring, getting the top corner height correct, vent hinges on level, windshield hinge mounting surf on plane. I had removed that whole corner plus a pillar. I made the jig with a removable brace for the windscreen hinge so I could gain the clearance to remove pieces as needed.

its tedious but now it’s done and the rest should go quickly.

Finished up the r380/lt230 install which entailed hooking up wires, sensors, mounting brackets, re organizing wiring etc. Now on to the engine bay. Finished repainting pulleys, top rail and mocking up turbo for install. I soaked my bull horns overnight in rust remover, wire brushed and then used vht ceramic paint. I need to bake them tomorrow to cure. Came out pretty tidy. Getting back to it tomorrow. #garageisolating

Definitely replace the stock boost hose , it's 100% garbage. Had two locally blow /melt

I have silicone hoses already. Appreciate the heads up. Busy day. Installed uprated starter, ground to chassis, installed the turbo, p gasket, new water pump and gasket, uprated intercooler and then put back all the hoses, pulleys, etc. Tomorrow touching up the seat box while its out and blasting and painting floor pans. Getting close.
