Portable Jump Starter Deal

So I have the NOCO Genius Boost GB70. If your even kinda on the fence about one of these you need to just buy it. My 110 had a bad battery but not just lack of a charge...it would actually have a cell drop out so sometimes I had 12v sometimes and others I had 10v. The Boost laughed at jumping it every time (why it took me so long to just replace the battery I don't really know). Months later I found that I had left the running lights on and the battery was completely dead. Boost started it right up only being on clipped on for a few seconds.

These are an example of changing tech actually improving a situation beyond what you could have expected.

Ran down the battery on the new-to-me Disco2 while working on it and used the jump starter for the first time. Started the rig right up no problem; good thing since no one else was at home at the time to give me a jump. What a convenience! The next time there's a coupon sale, I'll pick up a couple of more for the family.

I bought two of the 800amp last week....and then immediately bought two of the 1500amp when you posted that. Can't have enough backup at 60 bucks...

Got to use my gooloo this morning. I'd forgotten yesterday that the battery wasn't holding a charge....Throw away the jump cables. These things are great. My puny little 4cylinder DD started right up.
Now to go fit the replacement battery....

Was out on a backroad outing with some buddies ... one of them said he needed a jump when he couldn't get his rig started after a lunch break ... no need, my gooloo got him started right up.

So why are dual battery setups still needed? If I can still jump start the rig when the battery runs down, what use is having a complicated dual battery setup?

I just ordered this one. Looks pretty good to me, but hard to say. I'll report back with my opinion.

... Looking back through the post, I could just rely on others opinion who have already bought it. 😬

I used that exact model a month ago or so to pickup a 110 at the port in newark. Battery was completely dead. The cutoff switch was probably connecting and disconnecting while at sea, as it was a piece of shit that was partially still screwed down. I was at 90% when i pulled the jump box out of the case, and after a few minutes of cranking and holding it on to charge, it started up. Charge dropped to 25% and it smelled a little toasty, but got it home, charged it back up and no smell or heat. That single use situation was worth the price paid.

Funny how I got one of those and used it more than I ever expected to. Failing batteries on cars and lawn care equipment happened a lot last year. Doesn’t seem to lose charge either when dormant and doesn't use much power to jump.

I have that same model and it has worked out great! Definitely has a lot of power and last a long time on one charge.
