Lanolin Corrosion Prevention

So I ran across this video by 4xoverland (the only overland type youtube channel that is any good.)

Roothy gives a good talk & demonstration of the benefits of Lanolin for corrosion protection.
I like that its based off a natural by product and not another petroleum based product or one full of chemicals. I deal with enough chemicals and its nice to have one less one floating around in the garage, dripping off my truck and getting on my skin.

Lanotech isn't sold in NA, but I did find a company called WoolWax.

Sounds like Fluid Film, something I've seen applied on vehicles. Problem with Fluid film (and perhaps the product in the video) is that it has to be reapplied. Products like Waxoyl are one and done.

Yes lanolin is good stuff. In another life I was involved in rotary wing aircraft and operated in salt water environments. We went through a lot of anti corrosion products one of my favorites and I still use it today is Fluid Film which contains lanolin. It is a constant fight against corrosion, rust never sleep. Great video, thanks for posting. Ill check more of the channel.

I work in the aviation industry as well and corrosion is definitely a constant battle, especially in salt water environments. I didn't know fluid film had lanolin in it.

4xOverland is a fantastic story teller and videographer. He is from south africa and has been "Overlanding" since the 80s and now he lives in Australia. He also builds some beautiful rigs.

Lanolin evaporates over time. needs to be re-applied frequently but certainly works.
Another aerosol product with great results is Corrosion x.

Zinc works best
