I always enjoy the recent posts in the sidebar, but that is traken away in mobile. Is there a way to easily see that? Or is there a way to exit mobile and request desktop version?

Click on the lightning bolt in the upper right. That's new posts.

I asked, it wont. There is a Big $$$ to pay for that an not many people used it. I was one Tapatalk user here (and on other forums) but the mobile site for here is really good..

I agree with others the new site is fantastic. Would love Tapatalk maily to consolidate all forums to one spot, as well as having push notifications.

If it would ever be considered, and financials are an issue, I would be happy to toss in or sign up for a yearly subscription. This site has been gold for me getting into the defender world, and I've met so many great people here as a result.

I added "ham radio callsign" as a new field in your user profile. If you want to add your callsign below your name in your posts, go to your user profile and supply a callsign there. I don't want this to be polluted with bullshit so only fill this out if you have a license.

I mentioned this over on DiscoWeb (which also got a new design) and it's worth mentioning here:

Using a third-party image host is not recommended. Many sites (e.g. Photobucket) went pay-only, breaking huge numbers of images on many forums. Others have simply disappeared. If you want to put images in your post, I recommend one of two options:

1. Recommended: Use our attachment system. The new forum software is much, much better for attachments than the old forum. Your attachments will be sized to fit and they will be here for as long as the board is alive.

2. Alternatively, you can host your images yourself on a reliable host that you pay for. Flickr, for example.

Please don't post photos from imgur, Photobucket, or other unpaid hosts, as they will eventually disappear.

Having test driven the new Mobile version for a few days, it's a massive improvement over anything we've had before. Even Tapatalk users will love it!

If you upload too large of an image here, it won't be displayed inline--you'll just get a text link for it. I recommend resizing images to no more than 1200 px wide or so. I think this is more than enough for the average tech photo or travelouge post.

I think Flickr is a good choice if you're a serious photographer and looking to archive your photos there while also sharing them here, but I would never do it without a paid account. They've cut back on services to free accounts several times already.

Honestly, I had no idea Flickr had the option of paid accounts. I only use it for forum posts. I'll go with the forum hosting going forward. It is such a bummer on DWeb how all of the classic old school threads are missing most of the photos thanks to Photobucket.

Just upgraded our (new) software. This brings a bunch of new features but the one you'll probably notice is the revamped post editor.

You can also "react" to posts a la Facebook. I'm not super keen on this but I'm sure that the millennials here will love it.
